Cleankill technician is finalist in industry awards

Beth Pemberton-Hill

Cleankill Pest Control is delighted to announce that one of their top pest control technicians, Beth Pemeberton-Hill, has been shortlisted for Young Pest Controller of the Year in the National Pest Awards 2026.

Beth has been a valued member of the Cleankill team for more than two years. In that time, she’s helped hundreds of clients with their pest issues and put excellent pest prevention programmes in place. One of her regular customers is the National Trust's Hinton Ampner. The heritage site has routine visits from Beth who is keeping the historical site free from any unwanted pests.

Originally Beth was considering a career in policing, so she went to study Criminology with Forensic Studies at Portsmouth University and graduated with a First-Class Degree (BSc). Her course involved studying the decomposition of a piglet cadaver and using different types of flies to determine the time of death. Studying the flies and their larvae is where Beth found her passion for all things pests and led her to go into pest control.

Beth loves to interact with customers and provide advice; her eagerness to learn and constantly improve her knowledge makes her a very successful pest controller. She is also, of course, a great example and an inspiration for women that pest control does not have to be a man's world. She says: “Nothing really scares me which surprises lots of people who naturally think a female pest controller might be a bit squeamish at the sight of some things. I’ve had to deal with many different scenarios during my time in pest control and nothing has fazed me.” Beth admits that the only pest which gives her the heebie-jeebies is spiders.

The Young Pest Controller of the Year award (sponsored by ENVU) recognises the contributions of young pest controllers while emphasising the importance of attracting new people to the industry. The candidate must be committed to enhancing personal skills and knowledge by keeping up-to-date with learning.

The National Pest Awards is the biggest event in the pest control industry calendar. The awards celebrate the best in UK pest control, recognising the dedication, expertise and achievements of pest professionals and the companies behind them. This year’s event is being held on 9th September at the Plaisterers’ Hall, London. Tickets for the event can be purchased here

Cleankill Pest Control specialises in providing commercial and residential pest control services across London, Surrey, Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, Bucks, Bristol and the rest of the country.
