Cleankill Pest Control, along with Technical Training Manager Sophie Thorogood from Pelsis, recently ran the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) Level 3 Pest Management course.
RSPH Level 3 trains staff to a higher level of reporting and infestation awareness than the RSPH Level 2 course. The Ofqual-regulated qualification is for experienced pest control technicians, senior staff, and supervisors wanting to prove specialist expertise. The course is the epitome of a professional pest control technician and qualifies those who pass to write fully comprehensive service reports. Typically, it prepares staff to become Inspectors, and a few may then go on to qualify as Field Biologists
The qualification consists of a core unit assessed with a written exam, along with the submission of a work portfolio. The portfolio consists of a very in-depth write-up of two invertebrate control jobs and two vertebrate control jobs, one of these must be using non-toxic e.g. trapping methods and both need to have something noteworthy or uncommon about them to get the best marks. It is a tough course with questions requiring more in-depth responses compared to the Level 2 course.
