One of the great things about being a pest control company is that everyone needs or is legally required to keep their premises pest free. Of course, there are many companies to choose from and we have to do everything we can to outshine the competition. This includes making sure all our accreditations are up to date such as PICS supplier scheme, ISO9001 and 14001, Exor, Chas, Construction Line, Achilles UVDB and Contractor Plus, Safe Contractor and Altius Assured Vendor.
We’ve been working hard in this area lately and getting excellent feedback from assessors. Some competitors are not doing themselves any favours and we are winning business from them by proving that we care about our customers and offer a truly responsive service. We were astonished to hear recently that one very large company has changed to an on-line booking system. When the customer rang up about a problem they were told to use the on-line booking system! This is a great example of technology putting a barrier between contractor/client relationships – with Cleankill, if you ring us we will always respond.
There are also some pest control companies who have gone out of business recently and others who have been bought up by large multi-nationals – we’re hoping some of their customers will come to us because they know they will receive a quality service from us.
We’re very optimistic about 2014. We have some fantastic clients like the Diocese of London who we’ve been working with for 15 years now and some great new ones have recently come on board.
One of the highlights of 2013 year was winning the Best Green Business category in the South London Business Awards. Being green is an aspect of our business that we are passionate about and have worked hard to progress, so being recognised for this work was fantastic. We know that ‘green’ contractors are important to our customers too and we can assure you that, just because we’ve won an award, we are striving to be even greener in 2014.
