A Cleankill Pest Control technician is taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon next month for to raise money for charity.
Beth Pemberton-Hill, 29 from Angmering in West Sussex, recently had the big achievement of being awarded Young Pest Controller of the Year at the National Pest Awards 2026 and now she has her sights set on a new challenge.
The Cardiff Half Marathon takes place on October 4th and has grown into one of Europe’s largest half marathons. It is Wales’ largest mass participation and multi-charity fundraising event with over 27,500 registered runners.
Beth is running in aid of Cancer Research Wales. She said: “Cancer Research is a charity close to my heart as I know people who have been affected by cancer. I want to be able to give back to the charity and thought this would be a great way to do just that.”
One in two people in the UK born after 1960 will be diagnosed with some form of cancer, resulting in it being highly likely we will all be affected by this horrendous disease one way or another. Raising money for Cancer Research Wales funds the vital research to create hope for cancer patients and transform outcomes for future diagnoses.
Beth said: “I absolutely love running. It has the added benefit of keeping my fit for my job which can be physically demanding at times. Any sponsorship people are able to give would be greatly received and appreciated and, of course, put towards a very good cause.”
Cleankill Pest Control Senior Manager Clive Bury added: “We are proud to support Beth as she takes on this challenge, raising awareness and funds for such an important cause. We have all been affected by cancer at Cleankill and also personally and every penny that can be raised for research takes us a little further towards finding a cure.”
