It’s two o'clock on a Friday afternoon and Cleankill Directors Paul, Jon, Clive and Ian are enjoying a cuppa after a busy week. Their peace is disturbed by the telephone ringing. Ian answers and is greeted by a distressed lady calling from a flat in Weybridge shouting: “come quickly please, I have got an infestation of crickets in my flat and I have a young baby….you must get here now!”. The four men looked at one another puzzled…crickets?
One of Cleankill’s core services is bird prevention work. This includes installing netting and other types of ‘proofing’ to deter birds such as pigeons and seagulls from landing and nesting. Bird droppings are unsightly and cause a number of health problems, while nests can block guttering and provide a home for mites and other insects.

Don’t get yourself in a flap about bird control
Cleankill was called in to carry out a clean-up operation after pigeons found their way into an East Sussex premises that was being used as a cannabis factory.
The owner of the town centre premises was completely unaware that his tenants had large amounts of cannabis growing and had installed heating ducts to provide ideal growing conditions. In the process of turning the premises into a factory, multiple holes were made in the ceilings and walls allowing birds to move easily around. The property was actually registered as a wedding dress repair shop.
